This morning I’m going in. In to myself before I go in to Haiti.
For me, it’s a must. To first tap that place of acceptance, strength, unlimited capacity, endurance, kindness and unshakable compassion before I offer my hand to anyone else. Otherwise the connection, the offering of and holding of hands, is not effective, sustainable or authentic.
So I sit and go in to stillness, into silence. The voice that arises out of my clarity has something to say about being of service in a way that is truly helpful, empowering and evolved. I try to hear, I want to know.
As I am leaning into the presence of my being, trying to understand the nature of the message, I realize the process itself is the answer I am seeking. LISTENING - truly listening to myself and others. Hard-core listening so that I may hear the raw message in the essence of the words (both spoken and unspoken); the true nature of all of the experiences that arise beyond their surface stories of right/ wrong, good/bad; and the wisdom that flows from all that unfolds.
As I go in today and on all days, may I hear in this way so that I may offer an authentic hand to hold. A hand that understands, a hand that supports, a hand that empowers, a hand that connects. A hand that acknowledges in the holding of another, that it carries another loving heart and touches another unbridled soul. May the touch of hands coming together begin the process of healing us all, as we hold each other up and walk each other home.
